the design process
1) Free consultation
We can arrange a viewing of your garden and discuss what you want to achieve, your likes and dislikes as well as your budget. I will take into consideration the available space, local surroundings, architecture, aspect, soil type, existing features and plants.
2) Design quote
Once I have an idea of what you want and how long I think it will take to draw, I will provide you with a quote for the design work.
3) Site survey & analysis
Accurate measurements will be taken of your existing garden including any changes in levels. Large or complex sites may require a land surveyor.
4) Draft drawing & discussions
A rough pencil drawing of your design will be presented along with any necessary sketches and photos. This is the time to discuss any ideas or changes you may wish to make before the plan is finalised.
5) A1 coloured & annotated layout plan
The layout plan is the finished design and is the plan from which a landscape contractor can work. I am happy to recommend a number of local landscapers if you wish to get a quote for the construction work.
6) Planting plans if required
Planting plans show the position, size and quantity of plants. I also supply a maintenance guide for your new garden.
7) Quote for soft landscaping if required
I can quote for supply, planting and mulching of your new plants.
